Všechlapy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Všechlapy combines sporting events with unusual traces of the past and a gently rolling landscape. A notable example is the annual mountain biking event Všechlapská šlapka: the route is 33 kilometres long and runs mainly along field and forest paths. Participants of all ages take part. The music group showcase Ostofest also takes place in Všechlapy once a year.

Culture and Archaeology

One of the village’s most distinctive structures is the wooden bell tower in Všechlapy. It was made from a single tree trunk and fitted with a small roof; inside is a bell bearing the year 1759.

However, the history of the village goes back even further. At the former site of Sad Míru, traces of settlement dating from the Late Bronze Age, the Early Roman period and the Early Middle Ages were found. There was also an early Slavic semi-sunken hut with a heating installation in the northeastern corner. Parts of a mammoth skeleton came to light during road construction in the direction of Nymburk. Differently worked stones were also found in the vicinity of Všechlapy, between Všechlapy and Krchleby.

At the northwestern edge of Všechlapy lies the Na Kyselce archaeological enclosure. Its shape is an irregular oval measuring approximately 240 × 160 metres; it is bounded by two parallel, repeatedly interrupted ditches.

Landscape Surroundings

Všechlapy lies in gently hilly terrain without clearly defined landscape boundaries. The Klobuš watercourse comes from the north and bends slightly southeast in the Všechlapy area.

In the nearby area are Všechlapský vrch, a landscape feature recorded as a hill, and Na Kopci [Všechlapy u Nymburka], also a landscape feature recorded as a hill. In the wider regional area are Horky and U Borku [Záhornice u Městce Králové], landscape features recorded as mountains.
