Křinec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Křinec, Baroque architectural history, traces of medieval fortifications and nature at Chotuc come together. Křinec Chateau is a Baroque building and has been a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1965.

Culture and History

During regular guided tours and events, Křinec Chateau is partially open to the public.

Kuncberk is a wooded hill with traces of a medieval fortification, mighty circular ramparts and a large, deep moat. Kuncberk was a medieval fortress that was converted into a castle after 1470 by Jan Křinecký of Ronov. Today, a mighty earth rampart, a moat and the remains of cellar rooms are visible at Kuncberk on the central area. The fortification at Kuncberk is considered an outstanding example of the development of passive defence against the effects of artillery in the 15th century.

Nature

The Chotuc natural monument rises above Křinec. In the Central Bohemian Region, Chotuc is considered a key area for the occurrence of the purple orchid (Orchis purpurea). Ecologically valuable xerothermic plant communities also occur on Chotuc.

Getting Around

The Chotuc educational trail begins at the eastern foot of Chotuc Hill, next to the road between Křinec and Hrubý Jeseník. It has eight information stations.
