Křečkov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The historic watercourse known as the Sánský Canal, which has survived to this day, runs through Křečkov and flows into the Mrlina near Budiměřice. The watercourse, later known as the Sánský Canal, was created around 1450 by Jiří z Kunštátu.

Landscape and surroundings

In the immediate vicinity of Křečkov lies the hill (Na Spraši) [Poděbrady-Velké Zboží]. The mountain U Borku [Záhornice u Městce Králové] is also located nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Křečkov are Hořánck Hill, Horky Hill and Kačina Chateau.

Culture in the village

The historic chapel on Křečkov village square is one of the village’s cultural monuments and was fully reconstructed in 2001. In the past, it was occasionally used for religious purposes and for ringing the bell when someone died.

In the centre of Křečkov, the memorial to the fallen stands among lime trees.

Activities and events

Křečkov’s proximity to the Elbe offers opportunities for cycling, inline skating, walking and fishing. On the Sánský Canal, the section from Pátek to below Křečkov is heavily overgrown; below Křečkov, conditions for navigation gradually improve.

The Floriánek is scheduled to take place in Křečkov on 6 June 2026, with OSH Nymburk and SDH Křečkov as the organisers. This will be the 30th edition of the Floriánek.
