Županovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

VN Slapy – Županovice is a bathing area in Županovice on the Vltava River. The Slapy bathing area extends along the entire length of Županovice, has gently sloping access to the water and is suitable for fishing. Županovice is also home to the public Županovice I campsite.

Water

The historic Županovice lock is part of the history of the waterway. It was 26.6 metres long and 4.7 metres wide.

Events

The triathlon Malý županovický železný muž takes place every year. It is an amateur event for women, men and relay teams of all age groups and performance levels.

Culture and History

A deed of gift for Županovice is dated 12 February 1235. Anežka, abbess of the Convent of the Poor Clares in Prague, retained Županovice for three years and subsequently bequeathed the place to the Order of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star at St. Francis in Prague. The order remained the feudal lord of Županovice until the abolition of serfdom in 1848.

A pilgrimage Mass was held in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Županovice. Pilgrimage Masses were held in Županovice on 24 May 2015, 28 May 2023 and 24 May 2026. An Advent gathering was announced for 6 December 2025; a third Advent gathering was also announced.
