Hudčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hudčice is home to several reminders of local and regional history. Construction of the chapel in Hudčice began in 1909. On the village square next to the chapel stands the Hudčice memorial to those who fell in the First World War, which was erected in 1920.

Culture and History

The Hudčice memorial bears the names of local soldiers who fell in the First World War. The prehistoric fortification of Hradiště Hradec is also known by the names of the nearby villages of Hudčice and Simín, but lies in the cadastral area of the village of Martinice, a district of Březnice.

The memorial to František Lízl commemorates Ing. František Lízl, who is described as the leader of a resistance group. Hudčice granite is also among the site's traditional references: it was used to pave the first castle courtyard. Stone from the Hudčice quarry “Za hory” was also used for the Žižka Monument in Žižkov.

The historic site “Lety u Písku. Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia” is located in the vicinity of Hudčice. In the wider region around Hudčice are Hrad Zvíkov Castle, Valdek Castle Ruins, and the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast Ruins.

Getting There

Hudčice railway station is located on railway line 203 Březnice–Strakonice. Tickets for passengers are sold on the train at the station; the station itself does not sell tickets.
