Dubno: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Motýlí step Pichce is a significant landscape feature on land belonging to the municipality of Dubno. Its southern slope contains diverse steppe and forest-steppe habitats that transition into wet meadows at the foot. These habitats are home to more than 50 species of diurnal butterflies.

Walkers, cyclists and horse riders are welcome on the Motýlí step Pichce; motocross has also been legalised there.

History and Culture

The place name Dubno is documented as Duben in 1298, as Dubna in 1390 and as Dubno from 1555 onwards. Dubno is mentioned in a confirmation issued by Bishop Řehoř in 1298. This confirmed the entitlement of the parish priest Vojslav in Příbram to certain tithes.

Construction of the chapel in Dubno began and was completed in 1893; its interior furnishings were completed in 1894. A comprehensive renovation took place in 2008: the roof, including the roof structure, was renewed, the stained-glass windows were restored and the exterior façade was executed in the style and colours of the original chapel.

The Brána passage was historically part of the so-called Golden Trail between Prague and České Budějovice and has been made accessible throughout once again.

Paths and Sports

In autumn 2023, a footbridge over the Kocába was completed in Dubno. The multi-purpose sports field in Dubno was built in 2016.

Events

A building was erected in the outdoor swimming pool complex in Dubno as infrastructure for the events held there. A traditional Children’s Day takes place in the outdoor swimming pool complex; a Children’s Day was announced there for 7 June 2026.

The traditional Pálení čarodějnic festival, the burning of the witches, also takes place in the outdoor swimming pool complex in Dubno.

A fishing ban was imposed at Pazderák Pond in Dubno due to high temperatures.
