Nature and Trails

The Senda de la Antequina, a 2.5-kilometre trail, runs through the Parque Forestal Adolfo Suárez. Its manageable length contrasts with the size of the park and provides a separate scale for planning a walk.

Culture and History

The Cruz de la Atalaya is considered Pozuelo de Alarcón's oldest monument. It is located in Parque Forestal Cruz de la Atalaya, right at the beginning of Camino Viejo.

In the past, the Cruz de la Atalaya roughly marked the midpoint between Pozuelo and Húmera, when they were still independent municipalities.

Manteo del Pelele is one of Pozuelo de Alarcón's oldest traditions and was celebrated in Plaza de la Coronación. It was revived by the Asociación Cultural La Poza in the early 1990s.

The Somosaguas palaeontological site gives the public the opportunity to learn directly at the excavation site. Twenty-six mammal species have been described at the site.

MIRA and Events

Centro Cultural MIRA has a large exhibition hall and three additional rooms where exhibitions can be developed. Teatro MIRA has 565 seats and eight wheelchair spaces.

The Centro Cultural MIRA programme for 2025/2026 included bookbinding and clay sculpture workshops.

Festivals and Local Cuisine

The festival in honour of Saint Sebastian is celebrated in Pozuelo every year on 20 January. As part of the festival, a mass and a procession with the traditional Tamboreada take place on the Sunday following 20 January.

During the festival in honour of Saint Sebastian, the sweet bread rings known as “caridades”, made with anise and Aguardiente, are prepared in Pozuelo.

The gastronomic event “Pozuelo de Tapas” takes place annually in two editions, usually held in April and November. During the week-long event, guests can discover the tapas offered by restaurants and vote for their favourite tapa.
