In the Sala Patrimonio at MUNCYT Alcobendas, an exhibition across seven sections presents 266 historical objects and traces the history of technology and its everyday applications: photography, film, healthcare, and means of communication and transport.

Culture and Collections

The Ermita de la Virgen de la Paz (cemetery) in Alcobendas is protected as a monument. The protection entry RBIC-1982-000012 dates back to the initiation of the procedure on 23 September 1982. The Museo Bonsái Luis Vallejo houses a collection built up by Luis Vallejo over more than 40 years through cultivation and acquisition. It includes both native specimens and trees from Japan.

The Centro de Arte Alcobendas houses the Colección de Fotografía Alcobendas. Since its opening on 16 November 2010, it has been a permanent exhibition venue for photography, sculpture and painting.

MUNCYT Alcobendas combines permanent museographic elements with interactive exhibition areas and brings together museum collections with the communication of science and technology. Free, demonstrative and personalised visits can be booked; there are also more than 90 interactive modules covering disciplines such as physics, chemistry and acoustics.

Garden Spaces

The Luis Vallejo Bonsai Garden creates spaces in which the trees engage in dialogue with backdrops, plants, water and stones.

Routes and Transport

Ruta Verde 7.5 Monte de Valdelatas is a 9.50-kilometre circular route of moderate difficulty. It follows tracks, paths and unpaved trails; in the higher sections, it offers viewpoints.

Ruta Verde 7.9 Carril Bici de Colmenar has a different route profile: in Alcobendas, it includes a 4.6-kilometre one-way branch leading to Valdelasfuentes.

The different route lengths and types of paths provide an objective basis for organising your daily plans according to distance and route profile.

Alcobendas is served by Metro Line 10 with four stations, the C-4 Cercanías line with two stations, and 41 bus lines operating during the day and at night.

Events

The Centro de Arte Alcobendas hosts numerous institutional events, film screenings, theatre performances and concerts. The Luis Vallejo Bonsai Garden offers guided tours, activities, courses, small events and exhibitions.

When planning your trip, you can consider technology, art, garden spaces, events and routes as separate thematic focuses.
