Fuenmayor between Wine, Trails and Culture
In Fuenmayor, the Iglesia de Santa María de la Asunción is designated as a Site of Cultural Interest and is considered an outstanding example of Late Gothic and Renaissance architecture in La Rioja. The main building was constructed in the 16th century as a hall church with three naves of equal height. Star-shaped rib vaults and a Mannerist high altarpiece by Juan de Bazcardo are among its features.
