The parish church of Santa María de la Asunción in Alcanadre is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) and was built between the 16th and 18th centuries. The high relief of the Virgin and Child in the church of Santa María de Alcanadre dates from the last third of the 12th century. Near Alcanadre, the ruins of the Roman aqueduct of Calahorra on the right bank of the Ebro are designated as a protected monument of cultural interest (Bien de Interés Cultural, BIC). The Roman Puente Moros aqueduct in Alcanadre features several partly buried arches and substantial pillars.

Festivals and Wine

In Alcanadre, Santa Águeda is celebrated on 5 February; the festival includes a procession, performances and festive events on the first weekend of February. Since 1971, the live nativity play Belén Viviente de Alcanadre has been performed every year at Christmas on Monte Viso in Alcanadre. A pilgrimage to the Ermita de Aradón takes place on the first Saturday in May and the first Saturday in September. The Way of Saint James runs from Calahorra to Alcanadre. Alcanadre is also included in the Ruta de la Viña Recia wine route in La Rioja Baja.
