Every summer, Baños de Río Tobía hosts Bañarte, an art festival that transforms the town into a kind of open-air workshop. Bañarte includes workshops and exhibitions throughout the town; visitors can watch artists working and creating on site. When planning your own itinerary, you can give cultural experiences, scheduled events and historic structures different levels of priority. You can also adjust the order of these topics according to your interests.

Wine and local events

Baños de Río Tobía has 83.87 hectares of vineyards and six wineries in Rioja Alta. Bodegas Juan Carlos Sancha can be visited in Baños de Río Tobía; Bodega Clemente García can also be visited there. The Festival del Chorizo takes place in Baños de Río Tobía on the Sunday before San Mateo. If you organise your stay chronologically, you can consider the summer date of Bañarte and the date of the Chorizo festival separately. The vineyard area and the two wineries mentioned above link the region's wine tradition to specific places within Baños de Río Tobía. The date of the Chorizo festival adds a separate seasonal highlight, so the wine and the local event remain recognisable as distinct topics.

Route connection

Baños de Río Tobía lies on the Valle del Najerilla section of the Ruta de los Tres Valles. For your spatial planning, you can treat this route connection as a separate focus alongside visits to the town and event dates. This places the route classification and the town's individual topics side by side, without the route connection replacing the cultural or culinary aspects.

Architectural heritage

The Ermita de la Virgen del Rosario was built in the 17th century, more precisely during its second half, as an ashlar-stone chapel with a single nave, four bays and a sacristy, and was financed by Fray Benito Salazar. Its main altar is in the Baroque style and includes an upper niche with an image of Our Lady of the Rosary.

The Church of San Pelayo was built at the beginning of the 16th century. Its main altar is in the Renaissance style and was created approximately between 1530 and 1540. Archaeological remains of a small settlement were found at the entrance to the Church of San Pelayo. These include pottery and other objects dating approximately from the 2nd or 3rd century.

The Palacio de Salazar also dates from the 17th century. It was built from ashlar stone and has three storeys; its uppermost storey is crowned by a gallery with round arches. Two coats of arms are located on the Palacio de Salazar, including one bearing the inscription "Goiry Salazar". The structures represent different focal points: religious furnishings, archaeological traces and representative architecture can be considered separate approaches to the history of the town.
