Discover Lancharejo: Ruta del Agua and Aravalle

The 17 km Ruta del Agua LC-1 runs through Lancharejo, and the village is one of the four settlements in the municipality of La Carrera. The route passes local springs and fountains and crosses local streams. Lancharejo is also part of public transport route 05, which runs from Navalmoro via Lancharejo to Cereceda.

Landscape

Lancharejo is one of the villages listed in the Parque regional Sierra de Gredos. The Embalse de La Carrera reservoir is located in the Garganta del Endrinal within the municipality of La Carrera. Its permanent freshwater is used for fishing and irrigation.

In western Gredos, the banks of the Río Aravalle are home to one of the best-preserved alder riparian landscapes, as well as extensive oak forests suitable for walking. A recorded circular walk starting from Lancharejo leads through oak and chestnut forests and to two ponds. It is recommended in autumn because of the falling leaves. Culture

The Sendero Los Pueblos Abandonados del Aravalle runs through Cereceda, Santa Lucía de la Sierra, Serranía and Navalmoro before reaching Lancharejo. This trail includes a viewpoint overlooking El Barco de Ávila, parts of the Aravalle and the Alto Tormes valley, as well as the northern ridge of the Sierra de Gredos.
