Ruta 9 Birding in Extremadura: Llanos de Cáceres y Trujillo is a 46.3-kilometre-long, guided and signposted nature route for birdwatching that is assigned to the municipality of Santa Marta de Magasca. The route is travelled by vehicle and begins at Exit 35 of the A-58 towards Santa Marta de Magasca. It continues to Santa Marta de Magasca and then to the Río Magasca, where a short walk along the riverbank is planned for birdwatching.

The SL-CC 19 Dehesa boyal de Santa Marta de Magasca circular trail passes through the Dehesa boyal and approaches the banks of the Río Gibranzos along a path between holm oaks. The different lengths, means of transport, guiding formats and trail routes provide several objective points of comparison for planning.

Culture and festivals

The Rollo del siglo XVI bearing the coat of arms of the Loaysa family stands in the Plaza Mayor of Santa Marta de Magasca.
