In Prades, the Roca Foradada surprises visitors as a large, unusual hole in red rock dating from the beginning of the Triassic, formed by erosion.

Nature and Trails

At 1,203 m, Tossal de la Baltasana is the highest point in the Muntanyes de Prades and offers views of the surrounding area.

The Camí Natural de les Muntanyes de Prades passes by the most important sites open to visitors in the natural area around Prades.

There are around thirty springs in and around Prades, providing opportunities to rest and refresh yourself along the way.

When planning your day, you can choose between routes, individual natural attractions and the night sky as different focal points.

Activities

Prades offers routes for all levels on foot, by mountain bike or in an off-road vehicle, suitable for family outings and sporting activities; climbing and stargazing are also possible, while the town is certified as a Starlight Tourism destination.

The various modes of transport and types of activity can be arranged according to your preferred pace for the day, without committing the experience of nature and physical activity to the same focus.

Culture and History

The Porta falsa, a Romanesque portal, is located on the left side of the church.

The church of Sant Miquel del castell is the best-preserved element of the former castle complex in Prades.

Several interesting fragments remain of the complex consisting of a defensive tower and town walls; almost its entire course can still be traced.

The «Pradencs al carrer» exhibition presents large-format photographs of present-day Prades and the work of its former residents.

Prades offers family-friendly guided tours for all age groups, during which visitors can discover the red town and its natural surroundings.

Architecture, surviving structures, photographs and guided discoveries provide different cultural perspectives for planning days together.

Festivals and Food

The Festa de la Patata takes place on the first Sunday after 11 September and includes a competition for tortillas and stews.

The Festa de la Farigola includes a tasting of thyme infusion with honey.

The Fira del Vi i del Cava includes tastings of wine, cava and beer with tapas from the bars on the square, accompanied by music.

At the festivals, you can distinguish between a fixed date, a tasting featuring thyme infusion and honey, and an event with several drinks, tapas and music.
