Culture and history

Construction of the Església de Sant Joan Baptista began in 1510. In the 18th century, the church was rebuilt in the Neoclassical style with strong Baroque influences. Its octagonal bell tower rises from a square base and is topped by a dome. Remains of Nulles Castle can be seen on the right-hand exterior wall.

The Iberian archaeological site of Rabassats also reaches far back into the town’s history: its central building was in use in the 3rd century BC. The western room was divided into two areas and was used for domestic activities such as grinding, food preparation and weaving.

Routes through the countryside

The Ruta dels Tanins takes about 20 minutes by bicycle and just over half an hour on foot. It leads to Casafort, dry-stone structures and the del Lluc forest. Along the way, there are expansive views over part of the municipality of Nulles and, in the distance, the Prades Mountains.

The Ruta de les Alzines leads to the hamlet of Bellavista with its chapel, dry-stone structures and the bridge of l'Hospitalet. It also offers impressive views over the surrounding countryside. The Ruta de la Síquia is almost entirely paved and takes about 30 minutes by bicycle and one hour on foot.

The Ruta de la Síquia includes the Pont de Busquets, a paved irrigation channel formerly used to draw water, as well as dry-stone structures. Very good views of Vilabella and Nulles add to the route. The Ruta del Forn Teuler takes about 30 to 45 minutes by bicycle and one hour on foot; it leads to an old brick kiln, further dry-stone structures and good views of the hills. The different time estimates make the four routes comparable in terms of length and mode of travel.

Visit

The Oficina de Turisme de Nulles provides visitor information and cultural offerings such as exhibitions and a presentation room. In Nulles, visitors can discover the 3rd-century BC Iberian archaeological site of Rabassats and the medieval hamlet of Casafort as part of a visit.
