Lleret on the Edge of Alt Pirineu Nature Park

Lleret lies on the eastern slope of the Serra de Gallauba, on the edge of Alt Pirineu Nature Park. The high-altitude settlement is situated at just under 1,400 metres. Lleret consists of around fifteen houses. The village also includes a single small, secluded square.

Mountain landscape

Very close to Lleret runs a narrow and distinctive zone of dark, pyrite-bearing schists. Anyone who pays attention to striking rock formations while hiking will encounter a geologically characterised zone here, whose dark colour and pyrite content are explicitly part of its description. The Ransol Formation is embedded in the Dom de la Pallaresa. It forms a unit of limestones, dark schists and quartzites, meaning that, in addition to the dark schist, light-coloured and differently structured rocks are also identified. The peak of Cap de Montarenyo is located in the surroundings of Lleret. The peak of Cim de Costa Blava is also located in the surroundings of Lleret. The peak of Pic Major de la Gallina is likewise located in the surroundings of Lleret. The peak of Pic de la Gallina is also in the surroundings of Lleret. The four names provide specific destination names for the nearby mountain landscape without claiming any additional distance. The landscape can therefore be understood both through its rock formations and through the names of its individual peaks. In addition to the narrow schist zone and the Ransol Formation, four named peaks belong to the nearby surroundings. This combination of geological units and topographical names characterises the description of the mountain landscape.

Hiking and trails

GR-11 Stage 26 from Estaon to Tavascan descends to Lleret. The stage then continues to Aineto. Anyone incorporating this route into their hiking plans will find a named stage number as well as the directional indication via Lleret. In one direction, the GR-11 connects Tavascan with Aineto and Lleret. In the other direction, the long-distance trail connects Tavascan with Boldís Sobirà. An old path over the Coll de Lleret connects the main valley with the Estaon Valley. In addition to the marked GR-11, a historic path with its own valley connection is therefore also documented.

The church of Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià de Lleret is listed in the Catalan Cultural Heritage Catalogue. There it is listed as immovable architectural cultural heritage of the BCIL category under registration number 5928-I. For visitors interested in culture, this provides a specific designation together with a protection category and registration number. The historic site of Sant Vicenç d’Enclar is located in the wider regional surroundings of Lleret. The Parc Infantil park is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Lleret.
