Boldú lies at an elevation of 266 m in the flat area of the Comarca of Urgell, south of the Serra d'Almenara and almost merged with la Fuliola.

Culture

At the entrance to the village, the Creu de terme de Boldú stands in the middle of the main square; it dates from the 17th century. The structure is a wayside Calvary cross, with a skull symbol at its base.

The old voussoir stones of the portal of the Església de l'Assumpció are still set into the wall of the former façade. The first documentary references to the church of Boldú date from the 13th century.

Different layers of history therefore lie side by side within a small area: the cross marks the entrance to the village, while the surviving portal stones recall the church's former façade. The church itself is already documented for the 13th century through the first documentary references. Its history thus remains connected to visible architectural elements and not merely to a name.

The Festa Major del Roser in Boldú includes the traditional Plantada del Xop. The celebration also includes a sung mass and a communal vermouth in honour of the patron saint.

With the Plantada del Xop, the sung mass, and the communal vermouth, the Festa Major del Roser brings together a traditional activity, a religious occasion, and a communal gathering. The celebration in honour of the patron saint is therefore one of the explicitly traditional events in the village.
