Hiking Trails

The Volta al bosc de Dòrria circular hike follows the GR11 and leads to the Pleta de Dòrria mountain refuge.

The Camí de Nevà a Espinosa i Dòrria is a section of the longer route between Nevà and Dòrria. At the same time, it forms part of the footpath network connecting the inhabited settlements in the Toses Valley.

The routes mentioned connect different points of reference: the Volta al bosc de Dòrria leads to a mountain refuge, while the Camí de Nevà a Espinosa i Dòrria is designated as part of a longer route.

Culture

The church of Sant Cristòfol de Toses is an 11th-century Romanesque church. Its interior contains exceptional paintings dating from the late 12th century.

Dòrria is classified as a cultural asset of national interest, a Bé Cultural d’Interès Nacional, because of its beauty. The church of Sant Víctor de Dòrria preserves Romanesque wall paintings from the 12th century.

Various historical layers are evident in the churches. Sant Cristòfol de Toses combines a Romanesque construction period with interior paintings from the late 12th century, while Sant Víctor de Dòrria preserves Romanesque wall paintings from the 12th century.

History

The ruins of the former Romanesque church of Sant Cristòfol have been preserved in Nevà. The same village is also home to the 18th-century church of Mare de Déu del Carme, which is integrated into the rural landscape.

There are around one hundred fortifications of the Pyrenees Line within the municipality of Toses.

The former Castell de Toses castle stood on a hill above the centre of Toses.

The historical traces extend from former churches and a former castle to around one hundred fortifications of the Pyrenees Line.
