Tona: Roman Traces, Thermal Spa Heritage and Catalan Festivals

The archaeological settlement Jaciment i Museu El Camp de les Lloses is considered one of the few surviving archaeological examples in Catalunya of a settlement associated with the military sphere of the Roman Republic.

The visitor and interpretation centre at Camp de les Lloses explains the way of life of the inhabitants of this settlement.

The Pou del Balneari de Roqueta is the only surviving testimony of the Balneari Roqueta, founded in 1896.

Events

The Fira JocJoc, which originated in Tona, has a history spanning more than two decades and highlights play as an educational, creative and intergenerational leisure activity.

On the second Whit Monday, Tona hosts two days of public events featuring a decorated float procession, devotion to the Mare de Déu de Lurdes, a Sardana gathering, traditional dances and other activities representing Catalan folk culture.

The two-day programme therefore combines several public forms of Catalan folk culture.
