Sant Climent de Llobregat: Cherry Blossom, Trails and Cultural Heritage

In Sant Climent de Llobregat, the cherry blossom turns the valleys of the Riera de Salom white.

Nature

The Ruta turística del cirerer en flor begins at Plaça de la Vila and follows the Camí Ral section uphill via Camí de l'Angla. The route passes cherry trees in the Querol sector before reaching the new wooden footbridge at Estret de Roques. On the descent, it passes through the Sant Ramon mountain sector to Masia de Can Molins.

One route from Sant Climent follows the Camí Ral through Mediterranean woodland to Ermita del Roser. A walk to Ermita de Sant Ramon can begin in Sant Climent de Llobregat and lead via l'Angla, the new bridge at Estret de Roques and a forest track that begins at the foot of the new wooden structure. From the viewpoint at Ermita de Sant Ramon, you can see the entire Llobregat Delta; on clear days, you can also see the island of Mallorca.

Local farmers accompany residents and visitors on various routes between the cherry trees to experience the landscapes of the Sant Climent mountains. Since 2006, walks through the cherry orchards in white blossom have taken place in Sant Climent during the cherry-blossom season.

Culture

The Església de Sant Climent preserves part of the bell tower of a 10th-century church. The bell tower of Sant Climent is the only fully preserved Romanesque bell tower in Baix Llobregat.

The single-nave Ermita del Roser was built in 1955 and renovated in 1985. An Aplec takes place at Ermita del Roser every year on the first Sunday in October.

The keystones of the arch above the main entrance to the main building of Masia de Can Molins bear the year 1709. Masia de Can Molins includes a chapel originally dedicated to Sant Miquel, whose construction began in 1773 and which was blessed and inaugurated in 1777. The threshing floor, oil mill, grape press and animal stalls have also been preserved at Masia de Can Molins as components of agricultural production.

The Museu d'Eines del Pagès occupies three large rooms on the ground floor and the courtyard of the rectory attached to the church. It mainly displays agricultural tools, carts, household items and kitchen furniture from the 19th century.

The Festa de les Cireres includes tasting and purchasing various varieties of local cherries. The Festa de les Cireres is usually celebrated around the local cherries on the last weekend of May in Sant Climent de Llobregat.

Getting there

Sant Climent de Llobregat can be reached via the two regional roads BV.2003 from the direction of Viladecans and BV.2004 from the direction of Sant Boi; they meet in the town centre.
