In Sallent, the Enramades is a Corpus Christi celebration with medieval roots, during which the streets of Sallent are decorated; it is recognised as a Festa Tradicional d’Interès Nacional. Sallent’s Festa Major takes place every year on the first and second weekends of September.

Culture

On the Turó del Castell, the Castell i església de Sant Esteve i Sant Sebastià de Sallent forms a monumental complex with wide-ranging views over the Pla de Bages and the Llobregat valley. The Romanesque church in this complex is one of the few Romanesque churches in Catalonia with a circular floor plan.

The Pont del Batlle Pere Otger is commonly known as the Pont Vell. The Gothic bridge, built in the 14th century, is considered a landmark of Sallent.

The Poblat ibèric del Cogulló is a fortified Iberian settlement of approximately 5,000 m², recognised as a BCIN and included in the Ruta dels Ibers. The hill on which the settlement stands offers wide-ranging views over the Pla de Bages, the Llobregat valley and the Pyrenees. Visits to the Poblat ibèric del Cogulló are subject to scheduled tours or workshops.

The Centre d'interpretació i Casa Museu Torres Amat is a former family residence next to the Llobregat River; its luxurious rooms illustrate the power of the Catalan bourgeoisie. The Centre hosts tours, tastings and small-format concerts.

The Centre de Visitants del Geoparc de la Catalunya Central is an information centre about the Geopark and presents its geology through information panels, a small mineral collection and an audiovisual presentation.

Trails

The Ruta del Romànic de Sallent is an officially approved circular hiking route: it begins and ends in Sallent and runs entirely within the municipality.

The section of the Camí de la Sèquia through the municipality of Sallent includes several aqueducts and passes through dry farmland and wooded areas.

The Camí de la Sèquia runs parallel to a 14th-century canal that carries water from the Llobregat from Balsareny to Manresa. The total length of the Camí de la Sèquia is 26 km.

Six self-guided routes through nature and cultural heritage are available in Sallent.

Nature

Near Cabrianes, the Llobregat River forms the Aiguamolls de la Corbatera wetlands, with a variety of habitats. These include riparian woodland, pine forests, remnants of oak forests, red marl slopes, sandy areas, gravel banks, and extensive reed and bulrush stands.

Wine

Celler Sanmartí is the only winery of the DO Pla de Bages in Sallent and preserves a historic wine cellar at Mas Sanmartí. The old family residence has been documented since 1210.
