In the centre of La Múnia, the Església Parroquial de Santa Maria de la Múnia stands on Plaça Nova. The present-day Església Parroquial de Santa Maria de la Múnia was completed in 1886 following a rebuild on the same site. Its single-nave layout takes the form of a Latin cross, with two side chapels on each side. The church building’s location, construction history and floor plan are therefore directly interconnected.

Culture and History

The Festa Major de la Múnia is celebrated at Santa Maria on 15 August. The Baixada dels Reis takes place every year on 5 January in Castellví de la Marca. After descending from the Castellot, the procession also continues to La Múnia. The places mentioned therefore form part of the route of the same procession, while the Festa Major has its own date in La Múnia’s annual calendar.
