Culture and history

The Sant Pere i Sant Pau de Bigues church was consecrated in 1156 by the Bishop of Barcelona, Ramon de Torroja.

Sant Pere i Sant Pau de Bigues houses a remarkable Baroque altarpiece, the Retaule del Roser.

The complex comprising Castell de Montbui and Ermita de Sant Mateu de Montbui was classified in 1949 as a cultural asset of national interest (BCIN) within Catalan cultural heritage. The designation therefore refers to the ensemble of the castle and hermitage as a protected historic site belonging together.

The Festa dels Tres Tombs recalls Bigues' rural past and particularly honours draught animals.

At the Fira de l'Oli del Vallès, visitors can learn about the production process of Vera olive oil and taste the oil obtained from it. Production and tasting are directly part of this festival centred around Vera olive oil.
