Palau-solità i Plegamans has four tourist routes. They are intended to help visitors discover the municipality’s natural landscape and cultural heritage in a healthy and sustainable way. The municipal programme includes a cycling route.

Routes and Nature

The routes can also be started at other points. Along the paths, physical directional signs, GPS tracks and QR codes make it easier to find your way. The four routes can therefore be joined at various points; signs as well as digital GPS tracks and QR codes are available to help with route orientation. The railway line of the Tren de Palau runs through the Parc de l'Hostal del Fum. The line is 3.1 km long, serves for playful and comfortable sightseeing in the park and is one of its main attractions. The 3.1 km-long park line forms a clearly designated section of the Tren de Palau within the fenced grounds. In addition to native vegetation, the park’s natural features include paths, a stream and ponds.

The Parc de l'Hostal del Fum is a fenced area covering 35,000 square metres. It includes native vegetation, paths, a stream and ponds. The park provides shelter for small mammals. Birds use it as a nesting site.

Culture and Events

A music programme is offered on the terraces and in the gardens of Castell de Plegamans. The Mercat Medieval is also held there every year.

The Museu-Arxiu de la Fundació Folch i Torres is open to the public and researchers. It preserves the works, as well as biographical and bibliographical material, of the five Folch i Torres brothers. They are Manuel, Lluís, Josep Maria, Ignasi and Joaquim.

The permanent exhibition includes, among other things, the study of Josep Maria Folch i Torres. It also features portraits, busts and paintings of the five brothers. Complete collections and original manuscripts are also part of the exhibition.

The Museu Internacional del Titella de Catalunya is located in the Masia de Can Falguera. It displays puppets from around the world, as well as their playing and manipulation techniques.

Architecture and History

The Església Parroquial de Santa Maria de Palau-solità is a Romanesque church. Its surviving Romanesque sections are connected to later additions. It was consecrated on 14 November 1122.

The present parish church of Sant Genís was designed by the architect Puig Boada. It was consecrated in 1946. The route to the modern architectural heritage runs entirely through the centre of Palau-solità i Plegamans.

Casa Folch is a summer house in the Noucentisme style. It formerly belonged to the writer Josep M. Folch i Torres.

Escoles Velles is a rationalist building. Josep M. Sert created it in 1934.
