Liétor can be explored through nature observation, physical activity and culture. At the Presa del Azud, a landscape area on the Río Mundo near Liétor, you can observe the water; with a little luck, you may see herons and trout leaping upstream.

Nature

The Pilancón footbridge offers views of the deep canyon of the Río Mundo, the small terraced garden plots, the adjoining forests and the distinctive rock formations nearby. The views of the town open up different scales: from the river area and the gorge to the small, cultivated garden plots and the rocks in the surrounding area.

La Tirolina is fully integrated into the urban area of Liétor at the Pilancón footbridge. At La Tirolina, the ride travels 300 metres out and 300 metres back; each flight lasts approximately 45 seconds.

Trails and Physical Activity

The LI-01 Presa Bermeja–Presa del Azud circular trail is an easy 4.12 km route with 111 metres of elevation gain. It follows the Río Mundo and is suitable for families.

The Ayna–Liétor section of the GR-67 is 15.48 km long and has 427 metres of elevation gain. It is highly challenging and has both historical and scenic value.

Trail length, elevation gain and flight duration give you different measurements for planning your own day. You can therefore consider the trails described and the experience at the bridge separately from the cultural sites and decide for yourself what to focus on during your visit.

The LI-01 circular trail and the section of the GR-67 can be classified as two different hiking formats: one route represents an easier, more compact course, while the other is a considerably longer and more demanding stage. La Tirolina complements this selection not as another hiking trail, but as an independent bridge experience with its own time scale. This keeps the different activities comparable in their respective forms.

Culture and History

The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Belén de Liétor was built in 1570. It contains an exceptional ensemble of folk murals from the 18th century, considered stylistically to be the finest in Spain.

To visit the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Belén de Liétor, you must contact the Oficina de Turismo de Liétor. The Oficina conducts the guided tours.

The Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol in Liétor was built in the 18th century on the site of a medieval predecessor and preserves a Gothic tower from the 16th century.

Inside Liétor's parish church is a collection divided into five rooms. It includes sacred art, local archaeology, religious art and an ethnographic collection in the upper area.

A crypt is located beneath the church's main altar in Liétor. It preserves 20 intact bodies of members of religious orders and benefactors of the convent in their original clothing.
