The operational Chinchilla–Albacete section of the GR 239 Camino de Santiago de Levante leads as far as the road to La Felipa and then continues towards Albacete. The municipal swimming pool of La Felipa, located outside the town centre, can be reached via Avenida Miguel de Cervantes and includes a bar/cafeteria with a terrace within the facilities. In the La Sabina area, the María-Cristina Canal feeds a lagoon beside the road between Valdeganga and La Felipa.

The different formats – route, swimming pool and lagoon – offer various focuses for your planning, without requiring you to combine them into a single programme.

Culture

San Isidro Labrador is the patron saint of La Felipa and is celebrated there on 15 May. In his honour, festivals were held in La Felipa from 15 to 17 May 2015 and from 15 to 19 May 2019. The San Isidro programme included a traditional Mass and a procession in honour of the patron saint.

In La Felipa, a programme under the name “De la Purísima” is listed for patron-saint celebrations in honour of the Immaculate Conception from 5 to 8 December 2015. This programme included a Quintos bonfire in honour of the Purísima Concepción at 8:00 p.m. on 7 December.

The hermitage of La Felipa is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and San Isidro Labrador. On 15 January 2020, La Felipa hosted the provincial individual chess championship for the sixth consecutive time, in the Open, Women’s and Veterans categories.

Rural Heritage

“Música en el Cuco” aims to revive the traditional Cucos and highlight these structures as part of the cultural heritage. The concert series takes place outdoors in a rural setting.

A concert held in La Felipa was part of the provincial “Música en el Cuco” festival. The programme had already presented three concerts in a Cuco in La Felipa.

To travel from La Felipa to the Cuco, the CM-322 towards Casas de Juan Núñez is recommended for 2.2 km; the route then turns left and continues for approximately 300 m along a rural track. The separate distance details can be considered during planning as their own short or longer route section.
