Entrambasaguas: Holiday Apartments Between Nature and Culture
Nature
Entrambasaguas can be explored through its water, trails and architectural heritage. In the Barrio San Antonio, the Nacimiento del Aguanaz spring emerges from a grotto and forms a natural pond. The Aguanaz also rises from a karst spring in the Barrio San Antonio. You can treat the two references to water as separate landmarks when making your own plans. In the same barrio, there is a spring with a natural pond and a karst spring as distinct points of interest in nature.
Hiking and Trails
The Monte Vizmaya trail network comprises a total of 11.7 kilometres of paths and is accessible from the town of Entrambasaguas. The network includes a route from Santa Marina to the former iron-ore mines. In Hornedo (Entrambasaguas), there is also a self-guided circular water walk with a path to the source of the Aguanaz. You can distinguish between the total extent, a historic destination and a self-guided format; the different details help determine the desired focus of the day. For personal planning, there is a stated total distance, a path to a former work site and a walkable circular route as different types of trail-related options.
History
The San Lucas Fair in Hoznayo dates back to a privilege granted by the Junta of Ávila in 1521. It includes a large market for agricultural and craft products. When making your own plans, the historical connection and the market structure can be considered separately, as can the nature and trail-related themes of Entrambasaguas.
The buildings mentioned and the fair feature different characteristics: listed-monument status, rationalist industrial architecture, a palace-like complex, ecclesiastical architectural forms, as well as agricultural and craft products.
When planning a trip to Entrambasaguas, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions may each play a role in selecting a holiday apartment. Depending on your personal travel plans, these features of the offers can be weighted differently: travel dates define the period, the room category describes the preferred type of accommodation, and cancellation conditions represent another contractual aspect. The decision remains determined by your own requirements for this trip and stay.
Other places to choose from include Orejo, Mazandrero, Villamoñero, Las Rozas De Valdearroyo, Puente San Miguel, Abionzo and Puente Viesgo.
Culture
The Palacio de Fernández de Velasco in Entrambasaguas was recognised in 1984 as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the category of a historic monument. In the Barrio San Antonio, the Max factory for dietary products is a rationalist industrial building from the 1930s. The Max factory was converted into an environmental education centre. The Casona de Viar is a palace-like complex consisting of a residential building, a large tower and a chapel.
The parish church of San Vicente in Entrambasaguas has a Latin-cross floor plan. The church was completely rebuilt in the 17th century and has a large neoclassical high altarpiece. A total of 23 mills have been documented in Entrambasaguas over the course of history.
