The Ermita de Los Menores is located in a former packing shed belonging to Compañía Fyffes, which was handed over in 1979 and converted into a church by the residents. This site alone connects the area's agricultural past with its religious history.

Other Places

Other places in the area include La Concepción, Callao Salvaje, Las Moraditas, Taucho, Marazul, Armeñime, Tijoco Bajo and Playa Paraiso.

Culture

The first houses on the slope of the Barranco de Ajabo date back to the 16th century. The historic Camino Real de Guía de Isora also ran through Los Menores, connecting the area with the island's older history of routes.

The Ermita de Los Menores houses an image of the Virgen de Fátima, which came from Olot to Adeje in the 1950s and was donated to the parish. It also contains an image of the Virgen de la Encarnación, donated in 1997 by Doña María Álvarez Hernández and brought from Valencia. The two images are among the distinctive cultural details of this small religious building.

El Caserío de Taucho in the municipality of Adeje on the island of Tenerife is protected as a historic ensemble with Bien de Interés Cultural status. The original core of this ensemble lies around the Iglesia de la Virgen del Coromoto. For travel planning, these religious and historic sites can be considered as a separate focus alongside the routes through the landscape.

Landscape

The Barrio Los Menores is a semi-concentrated rural settlement on the left bank of the Barranco de Ajabo. In the section concerned, this is known as Las Barandas. The settlement form and the course of the ravine give the area a clear landscape framework, without this implying a uniform local character for all neighboring destinations.

Along the Boca del Paso–La Quinta route, evidence of former agriculture can be seen. This includes threshing floors, old cultivation terraces, stone and wooden water channels, cisterns, and the remains of former farmhouses. The Boca del Paso–La Quinta route leads from Boca del Paso to the old hamlet of La Quinta, whose origins date back to the 16th century.

The Boca del Paso–La Quinta route ends at the Ermita de Santa Margarita, which dates from the late 16th century. Different route destinations and historic themes provide an objective basis for organizing your days between local history, landscape and cultural visits.

Getting Around

Bus routes 448 and 449 connect the center of Adeje with La Caleta and improve public transport connections to Los Menores.

The Centro Cultural de Los Menores has four study rooms; rooms can be rented during the centers' opening hours. In addition to the historic sites and routes, this provides a specific cultural space in the area with its own usage option.
