Culture

The Mirador del Río was designed by César Manrique as a building embedded in the terrain and covered with volcanic rock.

Historically, El Mirador served as an observation point for everything approaching the island from the north.

The cafeteria at the Mirador del Río offers aperitifs with wines from Lanzarote as well as barraquito, a Canarian drink made with coffee, milk, liqueur, cinnamon and lemon.

The bronze sculpture “Busto de Poli y San Francisco Javier” was placed in the gardens in front of the church of Ye.

Festivals

The Fiestas de San Francisco Javier de Ye include a Romería and a public barbecue. The Fiestas also included hands-on workshops on food and crafts, including a cheese-making workshop and a rosette workshop.

The Fiestas also included a traditional evening featuring clothing from bygone times, Canarian music and the collection of offerings in honor of San Francisco Javier.
