Culture and History

The Museo de Arte Sacro Popular de Haría preserves religious artworks from the former Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación de Haría. The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de La Encarnación is known for its history and religious artworks, including images, religious paintings, monstrances and chalices. The historic centre of Haría encompasses the current boundaries of the Bien de Interés Cultural.

Handicrafts and Festivals

Haría Artesanal takes place every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Plaza de Haría. Handicrafts made from pírgano, palm fibres and palmito are presented, including basketry, rosetas, embroidery, dolls and ceramics. Local cheeses, fruit, organically grown vegetables and pastries are also offered. As part of the planned measures, the Plaza de Haría is to be restored to its original appearance as a central rambla; its unique pedestrian character is to be preserved.

The San Juan celebrations conclude on 24 June with a mass in honour of San Juan Bautista at the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de La Encarnación, followed by a procession through Haría. The San Juan festivities include the Festival Folclórico Malpaís de la Corona and a XXX Romería in honour of San Juan Bautista. The Noche del Fuego includes the Quema de Facundo, the Danza del Fuego, a fireworks display and a public dance event.

Trails and Landscape
