Culture

The parish of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria was founded on 18 July 1796. The La Candelaria church in Tías was built in the late 18th century after Tías was granted parish status.

The Ermita de San Antonio is included as a Grade 1 protected building in the catalogue for the protection of Lanzarote’s architectural and monumental heritage. It has a bell dating back to 1455. The present-day building of the Iglesia de San Antonio in Tías acquired its ecclesiastical character in 1907 when two building sections were used as a church; before that, the premises served, among other things, as a grain store, a tomato packing warehouse and a barracks. Landscape

The local network of routes around Tías passes through diverse landscapes: from coastal paths and old cultivated areas to vineyards and volcanic lapilli. Culinary Festival

Every year on the eve of the main festival, a procession with children takes place to the church square, where roast pork with roscas, gofio, cheese and wine from the region is prepared.
