Villayón: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature and Water
The Cascadas de Oneta natural monument is a spectacular group of three waterfalls cascading down over just a few metres. The Cascada de Méxica is a horsetail-shaped waterfall with a drop of 10 metres. It is associated with a local legend according to which a golden castle stood beneath the cave, where a Moorish king lived with his two enchanted, golden-haired daughters.

Culture and History
The Centro de Interpretación de los Paisajes Protegidos de Montaña explains the significance of the protected landscape of the Sierras de Carondio y Valledor, as well as its cultural, archaeological, ethnographic and natural resources.
The Dolmen de Barandón, also known as Dolmen de Entrerríos or Llastra da Filadoira, is a megalithic monument more than 5,000 years old. A dolmen on the Ruta del Dolmen y Carondio is a Neolithic burial structure made of large stone blocks and covered by an earth mound.
The Iglesia de Arbón dates from the late 17th century. It has a side chapel from the 15th to 16th century decorated with wall paintings. The Capilla de Nuestra Señora de la Merced dates from the 16th century.
At the Área Recreativa de Las Virtudes, visitors can see a monolith dedicated to emigrants and an original hermitage that was remodelled in 1950.
Activities
At the Campo de Remo in Arbón, canoeing and rowing are offered or practised as water sports. The Embalse de Arbón is also suitable for canoeing, rowing and sailing.
The Sierra de Carondio is a scenic attraction in Villayón that is suitable for activities in nature. The Villayón–Oneta cycling route is located in the Parque Histórico del Navia.
The path from Barandón to the Dolmen de Barandón is demanding and leads along livestock trails and through streams.
Getting Around
From Navia, the Centro de Interpretación de los Espacios Protegidos de Montaña de Villayón can be reached via the AS-25 to Arbón, then via the VY-4 to the AS-36, and continuing right towards Oneta.
