Landscape

Trails and History
The Camín de la Reina is 12.1 kilometres long and classified as an easy hiking route. It partly runs through the Natura 2000 site Río Sella SAC. It also partly follows an ancient Roman road built by Legio VII under Emperor Galba in the year 67.
The present name Camín de la Reina dates back to Isabel II's journey to Covadonga in the summer of 1858. In Llames De Parres, the church of San Martín de Escoto has medieval origins; it consists of a single-nave building with a square chancel. The simple chapel of San Lorenzo is located in Romiyu along the route of the Camín de la Reina.
After crossing a bridge over the Piloña River, the GR108 route passes the church of Santa María.
River Landscape and Outdoor Activities
The Emilio-Llamedo Bridge has a cantilevered viewpoint above the Sella River. Its design gives greater importance to pedestrians by extending the urban fabric of Arriondas.
In Parres, the cycling route from Oviedo to Cangas de Onís uses the road from Arenes and climbs there over approximately 3 kilometres.
Culture and Festivals
The Fiesta del Bollu, also known as La Peruyal, is a festival of tourist interest in the Principality of Asturias and is celebrated in Arriondas. It has existed since the first half of the 20th century. The historic district of La Peruyal is the centre of the Fiesta del Bollu.
