Sobrepiedra on the Sella – Holiday Apartment, Chapel and Hiking Route

The Chapel of San Bartolomé de Sobrepiedra is regarded as an example of Romanesque architecture in transition to Gothic.

Several corbels and an inscribed roof tile in the Chapel of San Bartolomé de las Rozas provide clues about its medieval foundation. The protected surroundings also include the ruins of an old mill. Near the chapel there is an information board that complements the site as a point of reference for viewing its architectural and historical details.

On 24 August, the patron saint’s feast of Sobrepiedra is celebrated in the Chapel of San Bartolomé de las Rozas. Elements of traditional culture are also preserved and revived in Sobrepiedra. Hiking

The Arriondas–Villanueva de Cangas hiking route descends to Sobrepiedra and then follows the main road eastwards to the eastern edge of the town.
