Fuendetodos takes you right into the world of printmaking: at the Taller de Grabado Calcográfico, the traditional art of intaglio printing is taught and can be learned, including the drypoint technique used by Goya himself. The Museo del Grabado is just a few metres from the Casa Natal de Goya.

Culture and history

The „Los pasos de Goya“ educational trail is a three-kilometre circular route through Fuendetodos and its surroundings, featuring various cultural and historical sights. The Fuente Vieja is a medieval structure, the first stop on this educational trail, and gave Fuendetodos its name. The Nevera del Calvario-Balay is an ice storehouse along the educational trail, where a re-enactment of historical ice cutting can be seen. The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción still contains the baptismal font at which Francisco de Goya was baptised.

Every year, Fuendetodos Goya Street Art invites urban artists to create works on the town’s streets, façades and doors.

History, printmaking and contemporary art each provide a different focus. You can consider these themes separately or compare them when planning your own day.

Trails and landscape

FuendeVerde offers guided trails through Fuendetodos, adapted to the participants’ level and suitable for travelling on foot, by bicycle or by car. The Ruta de la Hoz Mayor is an easy, seven-kilometre route („one way only“) suitable for the whole family.

Las Hoces on the Ruta de la Hoz Mayor is an unusual geological formation with a distinctly different local microclimate, where ferns and Pyrenean plants grow. Traces and tracks of wild boar, deer and badgers can be discovered along the Ruta de la Hoz Mayor. Three groups of trenches can be visited in the immediate surroundings of Fuendetodos.

For planning your day, the activities can be set alongside one another according to their character: the educational trail combines local history and culture, while the Ruta de la Hoz Mayor focuses on landscape and observing nature. The guided trails add various ways of getting around to this selection. Their length, circular route or designated one-way section provide different timeframes without mixing together the town’s themes.

The three kilometres of the circular route and the seven kilometres of the designated one-way section help with time planning. At the same time, the guided trails describe three possible ways of getting around: on foot, by bicycle or by car.

For a stay in Fuendetodos, holiday apartments can be considered based on travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions. These details form a separate part of the planning, while culture, history, printmaking and landscape each retain their own focus. Depending on your preferred focus, the accommodation details can be weighed separately from the destinations described in the town.
