Culture and History
Santa María la Mayor was built in the 14th century in the Mudéjar style. The tower and portal are protected as Bien Catalogado del Patrimonio Cultural Aragonés, a listed asset of Aragonese cultural heritage. Inside, the church tower has the structure of a Hispano-Muslim minaret with a central pillar.
The Ermita Santa Ana is made of ashlar stone and has a short Mudéjar belfry. El Mirador is located there and offers views over the village; the viewpoint can be reached on foot or by car and has a landscape information panel.
Las Bodegas Cueva are hillside excavations arranged in a circular pattern below the hill. A castle once stood on this hill, but it has since disappeared. Some of the bodegas, or caves, have been restored and used for photographic exhibitions.
Castillo de Sora is a medieval fortress of Muslim origin. It was built in the 13th century and remodelled in the 16th century. In Aragón, Castillo de Sora is included on the list of castles classified as Bienes de Interés Cultural, assets of cultural interest.
