Hecho reveals its character through a very well-preserved town center with distinctive traditional architecture. The different themes can be considered side by side for your planning, without committing to a single type of excursion.
Culture
The parish church of San Martín de Hecho was rebuilt between 1829 and 1833 after the original church building was damaged during the Peninsular War. The protected cultural site Puente de la Torre, a Bien de Interés Cultural and monument, crosses the Aragón Subordán approximately one kilometer downstream from Hecho.
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo al Aire Libre de Hecho emerged from the International Symposium for Sculpture and Art, which took place in Hecho from 1975 to 1984. The ethnological museum Casa Mazo displays tools used in agriculture, livestock farming, the production of cheese and requesón, and breadmaking.
In the wider region around Hecho are the Museo Diocesano de Jaca - Arte Románico, the Fuerte Rapitán monument, the Ciudadela monument and the Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña. For planning purposes, these destinations can be organized by town center, museums and the wider surrounding region.
Other linked places include Siresa, Neril, Tardienta, Aguascaldas, Arto, Lanaja, Bolea and Camporrélls.
Nature
Hecho is part of a bird protection area designated as a ZEPA. As part of the Birding Pirineos project, two routes and an ornithological observatory were established there. The natural sites mentioned differ in form and can be considered as separate focal points when planning your trip.
The peaks of Punta de la Cuta, Cerro de Lenito, Pico Agüerri and Peña Forca are located around Hecho.
The official GR 15 route, stage 12, leads from Aragüés del Puerto to Ansó and reaches the entrance to Hecho. The Navatas descent organized by the Asociación de Navateros de la Val d’Hecho has developed into a festival held in the first days of May, provided that the conditions of the Aragón-Subordán allow it.
The Centro de Interpretación del Megalitismo Pirenaico is located 8 kilometers from Hecho on the road to Selva de Oza and is temporarily closed. The Hecho Tourist Office is located in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, in the Pallar d'Agustin, and provides information about hiking routes and accommodation.
When comparing holiday apartments in Hecho, you can compare travel dates, room category and cancellation policies on the respective offer pages. These three details can be checked independently of one another and provide a clear structure for the comparison before you assess the named local destinations according to your own travel plan. The cultural destinations, natural sites and the time-specific Navatas descent can be considered separately, allowing different daily rhythms and interests to retain their own place in the planning.
Corona de los Muertos is one of the most significant megalithic ensembles in the Pyrenees.
