Holiday apartment in Koseč: Koseška korita, waterfalls and culture
Nature
Below Koseč lie the Koseška korita, whose gorges are up to 60 metres deep. Along the Koseč route, the Stopnik stream forms four waterfalls, each more than 20 metres high. A well-maintained circular trail also leads past numerous waterfalls on the Stopnik. In this small area, the deeply cut Koseška korita meet the stream’s watercourses and their waterfalls, arranged in different ways.
Trails
The path through the Koseška korita is 3.3 kilometres long. The circular trail begins in Koseč near Drežnica and leads through the developed section of the gorge. Because access is very difficult, only this developed section of the Koseška korita is accessible. Steel cables are used along the path to leave the stream bed. The length, starting point and this special form of accessibility shape the described route just as much as its course along the Stopnik stream.
Culture
The Church of Saint Justus stands in Koseč and is listed as architectural heritage in the Slovenian cultural heritage register. Regionally, it is considered one of the oldest churches. The circular trail through the Koseška korita passes the church, thereby connecting the gorge trail with a cultural destination in the village. On the way back, you can stop for refreshments at the Kranjc tourist farm in Koseč. The circular trail also offers a break at the energy points.
Routes and seasonal connection
Koseč is also integrated into higher-level trails and connections. The Kobarid–Kuhinja Mountain Hut stage of the Walk of Peace passes through Koseč. In addition, a hop-on hop-off bus connects Kobarid with Koseč in July and August. The two details represent different forms of connection: one is part of a Walk of Peace stage, while the other is a seasonal bus connection between Kobarid and Koseč.
On the respective offer pages, you can compare the details of accommodation directly. Check the exact location, the type of accommodation and the intended occupancy. You can also review the included services, individual price components, and the booking and cancellation conditions. These fields may differ from one offer to another. A holiday apartment or holiday home should therefore only be classified after reviewing the specifically stated terms and conditions. This keeps the key details of the respective offer separate from the destination’s special features. Occupancy also deserves a close look: A stated number of guests does not automatically describe every conceivable use, but should be checked against your own requirements. When reviewing services, it is worth distinguishing between explicitly included components and optional costs. For planning purposes, the stated arrival and departure times, as well as the deadlines for changes or cancellations, may also be relevant. The fields actually listed in the specific offer remain decisive in each case.
