Water

The two electric boats Zlatorog and Triglavska roža operate on Lake Bohinj in both directions between Ribčev Laz and Ukanc. As early as 1910, the boat Bogomila began operating a regular service, carrying people from Ribčev Laz to Ukanc twice a day. The boarding point in Ukanc is located on the grounds of Bohinj Campsite.

This means that two differently dated forms of boat transport exist side by side on the lake: the electric boats known today, connecting Ribčev Laz and Ukanc, and the historic service operated by Bogomila twice a day. The respective boat names and the clearly stated route give the water area a specific geographical and temporal profile.

Mountains

From Ukanc, you can take the cable car to the mountain station of the Vogel ski resort and then continue by four-seater chairlift to Orlove glave. Vogel offers panoramic rides during the other seasons. The sequence described therefore runs from Ukanc via the mountain station to the destination of Orlove glave, while panoramic rides are explicitly mentioned for the other seasons.

Nature

The Savica Waterfall is a 78-metre-high, A-shaped waterfall. It is fed by water from the Triglav lake valley and from springs beneath Pršivec. Its height, shape and the origin of its water are thus combined in a single natural feature.

The official Zlatorog Fairy Trail in Ukanc comprises seven stations. Figures from local fairy tales can be seen along the fairy trail in Ukanc. At Kravji bal, one of the highlights is the traditional descent of the herders from the higher Bohinj mountain pastures with festively decorated herds of cattle and the Basengo carried on their shoulders – all the equipment needed for life and work on the mountain pastures.
