Župný dom marks a prominent trail through Puchov’s architectural history. Imrich Marczibányi had the Baroque-Classical building constructed at the end of the 18th century.

Culture

Moravská ulica is home to a Protestant church in the Neo-Gothic style. It was built in 1880 on the site of an older church. The history of the church building therefore extends beyond the present structure and is directly connected with its location.

The Protestant church on Moravská ulica also contains a Renaissance altar dating from 1643. This individual furnishing element complements the Neo-Gothic architecture with a significantly earlier historical testimony.

Several cultures or cultural periods are documented at Púchovská skala. The time span ranges from the Early Stone Age to the Roman period, making the site an archaeologically multifaceted part of Puchov’s history.

On Námestie slobody, the Roman Catholic church preserves the old nave of a Renaissance church. This was built on the foundations of an older church believed to date from the 13th century.

The Púchovské múzeum can also be visited outside the scheduled opening hours by prior telephone arrangement. An arrangement is therefore expressly part of the preparation for a visit at these times.

Crafts

A distinctive craft tradition leads to the Púchov blue-printing workshop. It has been located in Púchov since it was moved from Záriečie in 1898. The place name Záriečie is therefore directly connected with its history, while Púchov has been its location since the move.

The site of the Puchov blue-printing workshop was registered in 1988 as an immovable national cultural monument under the name “Blue-Printing Workshop in Púchov”. This name is also the recorded designation of the registered cultural monument.

Modrý Dvor hosts craft days dedicated to blue-printing. The subject appears there not only as a historical tradition, but also as the focus of its own events.

At Modrý Dvor, participants can also acquire skills in craft workshops in the authentic surroundings of a dyeing workshop. The workshop setting is therefore an integral part of the framework for these workshops.

Meetings at Modrý Dvor take place by prior arrangement. Prior coordination is therefore provided for these gatherings.

Nature

Lachovec Forest Park is a popular place for walks. Among the numerous cultural landmarks, it thus provides a place expressly associated with walking.

Lachovec Forest Park is also associated with attending cultural performances at the new Ilonka Amphitheatre. The walking area and cultural performances are connected here in this stated context.
