Nature

The Chynoriansky luh biocentre is located in the cadastral area of Chynorany. In both its existing and proposed boundaries, it covers 46 ha. In the wider surrounding area, Chynoriansky luh is one of the few remaining examples of oak–elm–ash floodplain forests. The combination of a precise area specification and a broader regional context makes this landscape area a distinct topic within Chynorany.

Culture

The Ethnographic Museum and the V. Beniak Memorial Room are located on Beniakova Street, on the left at the entrance to Chynorany on the main road from the direction of Topoľčany or Partizánske. Parking for both institutions is available at the municipal office; from the municipal office, it is approximately a five-minute walk to the museum.

Chynorany has preserved the carnival tradition “Fašiangy v kroji”, established by Chynorianka. It takes place on the last Saturday before Ash Wednesday. In addition, brass band festivals are held annually in Chynorany. Both events are recurring cultural dates in the town, but they differ in occasion and season.

History

The church “Kostol Nanebovzatia Panny Márie” in Chynorany was built between 1784 and 1787 on the site of two older churches. In 1908, it was extended with side aisles. Its building history thus connects the present-day church building with two older predecessor buildings and a later extension.

Following its restoration, the Peréniho kúria is privately owned. It was created by converting a salt office and a salt warehouse; some historians believe that the building originated in the 17th century.
