Malé Uherce: Holiday apartment between nature and culture

Malé Uherce lies at the transition between the southwestern foothills of the Hornonitrianska kotlina Basin and the Tribeč Mountains. The village extends across the Nitra floodplain and the alluvial fan of its left-bank tributary. As a result, different landscape forms meet here directly. The villagescape also includes historic buildings, protected natural areas, marked trails, and regularly organised cultural events.

Landscape and nature

Part of the CHKO Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area lies at the southern end of the cadastral territory of Malé Uherce. It protects forest complexes with diverse morphological and relief features, as well as remnants of warmth-loving flora. Another aspect of the landscape can be seen in the forest above Malé Uherce at Štále, which is used for walks. Thus, the municipal area includes both protected forest structures and an area specifically used for walking.

Culture and villagescape

Among the prominent buildings is the Chapel of Kostol (Kaplnka) sv. Anny, a Baroque religious building constructed in 1719. Malé Uherce is also home to a Baroque manor house from the 18th century, located almost in the centre of the village. The estate complex includes the former granary, which is the only surviving agricultural building on the site. Another historic monument is Pomník prísahy: the memorial includes a monument dedicated to the partisan oath. The Pomník prísahy monument is registered as a national cultural monument in Malé Uherce.
