Jezersko – Jezerské Lake, Nature and Ski Bachledova
A green-marked hiking trail leads from Jezersko to Jezerské Lake. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Jezersko, you can consider nature, physical activity, winter sports and history as different travel interests. The various route and activity types can be considered side by side when planning, without having to turn them into a fixed itinerary.
Jezersko thus brings together different scales: the lake is a small, clearly defined natural destination, while Ski Bachledova offers a more extensive range of winter sports with downhill runs, lifts and cross-country ski trails. The church, documentary and settlement history add historical perspectives to these landscape and sporting themes.
Nature
The Jezerské jazero nature reserve was designated in 1967, covers 2.18 ha and is located in the southern part of the cadastral area, approximately 2 km southwest of the built-up area of Jezersko. Jezerské Lake was formed by a landslide; its maximum depth is 7.5 m, while its usual depth is between 2 and 4 m. The information on area, location and water depth helps to place this natural destination in its geographical context and understand its scale.
An educational hiking trail from Jezersko leads around Jezerské Lake to the ridge, the PANORAMA restaurant and the Treetop Walk. This educational trail is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Taking this limitation into account when planning your own route allows you to include the named stops objectively in your day plan.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Jezersko, you can compare travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions on the respective offer pages. This information can be checked side by side on an offer page to match your travel dates and the desired room category.
Culture and History
Jezersko is home to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, built in 1895.
In 1611, Šoltýs Christotor from Spišské Hanušovce was granted a reeve's charter in Jezersko, with the right to brew beer. As early as 1590, Jezersko appears as a dairy farm or clearing settlement belonging to the estate of Nedecký Castle.
For your planning, nature and cultural topics can be considered separately, so not every sightseeing visit has to follow the same daily rhythm.
Winter
The Ski Bachledova ski area is located in the upper part of Jezersko and has 13 regularly groomed downhill runs with a total length of 11 km. The upper part of Jezersko also has four ski lifts and a four-seater chairlift.
The chairlift takes you to the ridge of Spišská Magura, from where you can continue to further ski slopes towards Bachledova dolina, part of the municipality of Ždiar. The ski area also offers 26 km of cross-country ski trails.
You can consider the different route and facility data separately when planning and classify them according to your preferred type of winter sport.
Cycling
A cycle route runs through Jezersko from Keheľ, between Reľov and Spišské Hanušovce, to the northern slopes of Bukovina in Spišská Magura. The different activity types can be given separate priorities in your own planning.
Other Places
Other places include Reľov, Malý Slavkov, Lechnica, Matiašovce, Červený Kláštor, Tvarožná, Vrbov and Mlynceky.
