Discover Mlynčeky: Holiday Apartment at the Eastern Foot of the High Tatras
Mlynčeky lies in the Poprad Basin at the eastern foot of the High Tatras. At the same time, the village stretches along the left bank of the Biela voda stream. This location combines a clearly recognizable valley landscape with history, trails and events.
Landscape at the Foot of the High Tatras
In 2026, Mlynčeky is part of the protected zone of Tatranský národný park National Park. The protected zone is therefore an essential part of Mlynčeky’s connection with nature. Together with its location in the basin and at the eastern foot of the High Tatras, it creates a clearly defined landscape setting for your stay. This means the village can be discovered through both its surroundings and its individual trails and offerings.
Cycle and Hiking Trails for Different Day Plans
The marked Podtatranská cyklomagistrála cycle route runs through Mlynčeky. It leads from Podbanské to Kežmarok and is 47.5 km long. At 47.5 kilometres, it is longer than the Kelerov chodník, which also begins in Mlynčeky. For a cycling trip, the stated total length is therefore a specific planning factor; the two endpoints, Podbanské and Kežmarok, are outside the immediate village area.
The Kelerov chodník is 2 km long, begins at the car park by the church in Mlynčeky and leads along a comfortable forest path with several rest areas and benches.
Spa History, Mill and Church
Mlynčeky was already known as a spa in 1896. A former water mill in Mlynčeky was converted into the holiday resort “Tatra ház”. The church in Mlynčeky, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, was consecrated on 8 November 1970. Mlynčeky thus brings together the village’s historical reputation as a spa, the conversion of a former water mill and a church with a precisely dated consecration, representing different facets of the village.
Events in Mlynčeky
On 14 June 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Mlynčeky will host the 23rd edition of the recurring Tatranská pätnástka running event. The programme includes a 15-km main race, a 4-km race for young people and children’s races. In addition, the “Memoriál Jožka Mačičáka” football tournament takes place annually in Mlynčeky. The fixed date and time can be used directly for planning your schedule in June 2026. The two running distances are clearly different from each other. The two events have different focuses and complement the trails that make the village appealing for active days on holiday.
Winter, Exercise and Refreshments
Mlynčeky has two ski lifts. The local mlyn-gym is also used by visitors to Mlynčeky. Bistro Gól provides refreshments in Mlynčeky. The three offerings represent different reasons to spend a day there: ski lifts for winter, mlyn-gym for exercise and Bistro Gól for refreshments. Together with the cycle route, Kelerov chodník and the events, they create a diverse picture of the village.
