Konrádovce lies in the northern part of the Cerová Highlands, in the valley of a left-bank tributary of the Gortva. Below the 514 m-high Veľký Bučoň peak, the settlement lies in a basin surrounded by 13 quarries. Bučoň Hill is covered with deciduous forest. The highland valley, wooded hill and terrain shaped by quarries give the village a clearly recognizable landscape setting.
History and architectural heritage
The history of Konrádovce includes the large basalt quarry, which began operating at the end of the 19th century. 800 workers were employed in this quarry. Konrádovce also has a monument to workers who lost their lives in the quarry. Other notable buildings include a Neoclassical manor house from the mid-19th century and a Secessionist Roman Catholic church dating from 1938. The remains of the former settlement of Šimonfalva, including its cemetery, are located in the Civekfalva area.
