Chrámec: Nature, Trails and Reformed Church

The Cerová vrchovina Protected Landscape Area lies within the cadastral territory of the municipality of Chrámec. The Pieskovcové chrbty educational trail passes through an area of European importance that is subject to the fourth and second levels of protection. The Pieskovcové chrbty educational trail is a 4.6-kilometre circular route that begins on the outskirts of Chrámec. There are five information boards along the trail in Slovak and Hungarian; information in English is available via QR codes.

Rocks and trails

In the immediate surroundings, Pohanská skala is a sandstone rock formation with more resistant calcareous bands that form protruding, ledge-like shapes. A route from Chrámec led to Pohanská skala at the border with Hungary. Chrámec was the starting point for a traditional crossing through the Cerová vrchovina.
