Culture

The Church of the Archangel Michael in Muránska Dlhá Lúka was built in the Gothic style in the 14th century and redesigned in the Baroque style in the 18th century. It is registered as a national cultural monument. Another notable feature is the Evangelical Church in the central part of Muránska Dlhá Lúka. It is a Classicist Toleration Church dating from 1787. Its tower was completed in 1863. The church is in good condition and serves its religious purpose.

Nature

The protected zone of Muránska planina National Park extends into the municipal territory of Muránska Dlhá Lúka; the second level of protection applies there. The Natura 2000 site Alúvium Muráňa is also located within the municipality and covers approximately 11.5 hectares. This area is connected with the Muráň River and its main tributaries, from the source to the confluence with the Slaná. The Muráň River itself flows along the edge of Muránska Dlhá Lúka.

Activities

There are hiking trails on Hôrka above Muránska Dlhá Lúka, offering walks, nature experiences and views of the surrounding area. During the winter months, the village has ski lifts measuring 450 m and 300 m in length, as well as a children’s lift. The local ski lifts are artificially lit and can also be used in the evening when snow and weather conditions are good. In addition, a ranch with horses offers interested visitors horseback rides through the surrounding countryside. The trails, lifts and ranch represent clearly different ways of experiencing the area depending on the season: on foot, through winter sports or on horseback.
