Nature

One of the area’s special natural features is Lupočská nora. It is one of the larger non-karst, or pseudokarst, caves in Slovakia and lies in the cadastral area of Lupoč in the Ostrôžky Mountains. The surveyed passages of the cave are 54.5 m long in total; the greatest recorded depth is 20.5 m. Climbing equipment is required to visit Lupočská nora.

The Lučenec Basin also has a special connection with nature: breeding grounds of the black stork can be found in Lupoč, Jelšovec and Ľuboreč. In the upper part of Lupoč, there are lava rocks along the Polichianský stream that were formed as a result of the eruption of the volcano on Mount Poľana. Yoga enthusiasts visit these lava rocks for relaxation and meditation.

The part of the Ľuborečská and Lentvorská dolina complex located in Lupoč is a wooded area with strongly dissected relief. The valleys of the named streams in the Lupoč area are suitable for hiking. Culture and history

The masonry bell tower in Lupoč is a cultural monument. It was built in 1886 and has bells dating from 1701, 1886 and 1921. The history of the bell structure also goes back to the 17th century: at that time, a masonry bell tower was built in Lupoč on the site of an original wooden bell tower. At the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, a late Baroque bell with cast decoration was installed there.

Another historical site is located in Antolík at the foot of Vínny vrch. The Chapel of St Anthony of Padua was built there in 1696; a hermitage was later constructed beside it. Folk architecture has been preserved in Lupoč. The local cultural history also includes the Novohrad dialect of the so-called Zvolen type, which was spoken in Lupoč.
