Zemiansky Vrbovok – Holiday Apartment on the Krupina Uplands

The treasure of Zemiansky Vrbovok is an archaeological record of settlement in the municipality’s territory in the 7th century. It was discovered on 7 May 1937 by the farmer Ján Štimel while levelling a slope. It comprises several dozen silver pieces of jewellery, coins, vessels, and various damaged objects.

An Evangelical church stands on a slope south of the village. It is a single-nave Neoclassical building with a semicircular apse and an attached tower dating from 1923. The interior has a flat ceiling; the altarpiece “Jesus Christ” was created by Ľ. Schramek and dates from 1923. A memorial plaque commemorating Ondrej Plachý is located on the Evangelical church building.

Ondrej Plachý was born in Zemiansky Vrbovok and is regarded as one of the important representatives of the first phase of the Enlightenment.
