Holiday apartment in Horný Badín: nature trail and traditional architecture

Horný Badín is known for its traditional architecture. The Uňatín–Horný Badín–Čabradský Vrbovok–Čabraď Castle nature trail runs through the village.

Hiking

The nature trail is designed as a self-guided walking route that can be followed in both directions in summer and winter. It is in good condition. Its route connects Uňatín, Horný Badín, Čabradský Vrbovok and Čabraď Castle in one continuous stretch. For orientation, the fact that it can be walked independently is retained, as is the option of using the route in both directions and at different times of year.

Horný Badín lies on a flat ridge between the valley of the Jalšovík stream and the valley of the Vrbovok stream in the Krupinská výšina upland. The Jalšovík is a tributary of the Krupinica. The steep slopes of its valley are covered by a continuous oak forest.

Culture and history

The settlement of Horný Badín was established in the 14th century in the cadastral area of the municipality of Dolný Badín. In 1391, the place is documented under the name Bagyon. From 1773 onward, the settlement is documented as Horný Badín; its Hungarian name is Felsöbágyon. The various historical names are therefore among the traditional characteristics of the place and complement the settlement’s historical development.

There is a bell tower in the centre of Horný Badín. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk stands between two linden trees. Horný Badín is also home to a functioning wooden mill in private ownership. A commemorative plaque at the cultural centre of Horný Badín commemorates the literary historian Jozef Ambruš. An original chamber is also one of the village’s attractions.

Fragments of Hont architecture have been preserved in the old houses of Horný Badín. The older houses in the village are built entirely of wood. In addition, beehives can still be found in Horný Badín.

Anyone considering a holiday apartment in Horný Badín can view or compare the displayed offers and examine separately the fields that are only established in the respective listing. These include the exact location, the type of accommodation, the intended occupancy and the included services. The individual price components as well as the booking and cancellation conditions can also be checked. Check these points directly in the listing and keep the respective terms separate. What matters is what the specific offer itself states; this allows the different listings to be considered objectively. For comparison, the specific listing with its stated terms is sufficient in each case, without this implying any additional statement about the location or routes. This keeps the review limited to the offer fields actually stated and avoids unsupported conclusions.
